The resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth demonstrates the defeat of death and gives the hope of eternal life. Our faith teaches that the sins of humanity were erased and the price for our failures paid for by the death of Jesus. The Easter event is our way of celebrating and anticipating our own "resurrection" or triumph over death. Every other world religion can point to the grave of it's founder. They all entered the tomb and stayed there. Only Jesus burst forth from the darkness and poured light into our lives. This is the greatest news you can ever receive. It is earth shaking, world changing, and life giving. Because He lives, you too shall live.
