“God grant me the serenity”
Bible Text: Psalm 4:8, Psalm 119:165, Isaiah 32:16-17, Romans 5:1-2, and 2 Corinthians 13:11 | Preacher: Pastor Jim Keough | Series: SINGLE SERMON | The Serenity Prayer, is one of the most famous and powerful prayers in all Christianity. It was written and first delivered by Reinhold Niebuhr in 1943 at Union Church in Heath, Massachusetts. The prayer is one of the AA Prayers that is said at every meeting to help recovering alcoholics. When Niebuhr was given this amazing prayer by the Holy Spirit World War II was exploding
around Europe. The world was in fear and turmoil. Perhaps, this is the hour to join
in praying those powerful words anew as we battle an enemy we cannot see – the coronavirus. We need change, courage, wisdom and the “pathway to peace”.
