What’s your work? What special responsibility in the church, in life, has the Lord entrusted to you to carry out before he returns? Perhaps you’ve never thought of it. Or if you have thought of it, maybe you’re planning on getting to your task later. “No,” says Jesus. Get to work on that task now! If Jesus finds you sleeping when he returns,…well, it would just show that the faith you thought you had wasn’t real faith at all. You may come to church and confess all the right things but if Jesus has really touched your heart, it will show in your work ethic and desire to make things better.
