“Worth Living or Dying For”

Preacher:
Series:
Passage: Hebrews 11:33-40 and Philippians 1:21-24
Service Type:

Countless numbers of men and women have given their lives for a cause they believed in, but unfortunately many of these brave souls made the supreme sacrifice in vain.  Their death benefited neither themselves nor anyone else.  What is it that you are willing to die to protect or to achieve?  The scriptures teach that "all who died in faith" entered into heaven.  It is also shown that their lives were an inspiration to all those around them.  Let your life count for something.  The Apostle Paul said "to live is Christ to die is gain".  Our work in this life and our faith should lead us to a place of oneness with Christ.  St. Patrick's breastplate is said to have contained the following: "Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to comfort and restore me."
